Michael Minor is a noise, vibration, and air quality consultant who specializes in performing technical analysis for major transportation projects. Michael has extensive experience working on high-capacity transit systems, major highway and arterial roadway projects, local airports, construction, and development projects. He has 30 years of direct experience with traffic, heavy rail, light rail, commuter rail, airport, construction, commercial and industrial projects. Michael brings a strong understanding of NEPA, USDOT, FHWA FAA, and FTA guidelines. Michael Minor was the noise and vibration task manager for the initial Link Light Rail Project, the North Link Light Rail Project, and two heavy commuter rail projects in the Seattle - Tacoma area. Michael also managed the noise and vibration studies for the Portland-Milwaukie and South Link Light Rail projects. Michael has also worked on several Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems in Eugene Oregon for Lane County Transit, including their initial BRT system and three extensions along with several stations and park and rides. Michael Minor was the noise task manager for the SR 520 HOV and Bridge Replacement Project and the SR 520 Eastside Improvement and HOV Projects in Seattle-Bellevue. He also managed the noise and vibration studies for the Columbia River Crossing Project, connecting Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington with a new multi-modal bridge, including up to 12 lanes of traffic, light rail, and pedestrian and bicycle paths. Other recent projects include the the Sunnyside Road Widening and Improvement project, the I-205 Preservation and Aux Lane Project, Bend Airport Master Plan and Improvement Project and the Downtown Bremerton Pedestrian/BTC Access Improvement Project. All of these projects require a detailed level of noise and vibration analysis, including the measurement of existing project area noise levels, existing ground vibration levels, and vibration propagation characteristics.

Michael performed consulting work in the fields of vibration and acoustic analysis. He contracted and worked with several major industrial and commercial corporations, law firms, and smaller companies on specific problems related to vibration and acoustics. Michael authored reports, made recommendations for noise and vibration abatement, testified in court as an expert witness, and helped in solving problems related to acoustic and vibration.

Michael Minor began his carrier in acoustics and vibration as a field application engineer for Bruel and Kjaer Instruments (B&K). During his time at B&K, Michael was responsible for the sales and support of some of the most technologically advanced acoustics and vibration measurement equipment to state, county and city agencies along with independent consultants, private agencies, like Intel, Hewlett Packard and Freightliner, and testing laboratories, like Braun Intertec North West. Michael was also responsible for providing training classes on acoustics and vibration to the same group of state, county and city agencies, independent consultants, private agencies, and testing laboratories. Michael was responsible for teaching introduction to acoustics, modal analysis, sound level measurements and sound power testing among others topics to the different clients. Examples of training courses taught by Mr. Minor while at B&K Instruments include a detailed Psycho-Acoustics class, which provided details on human hearing, a general introduction to acoustics, a building acoustics class, classes on acoustical and vibration isolation and insulation, and measurements of human vibration. Mr. Minor also provided clients with personal training on the use and care of acoustical and vibration measurement equipment, general introductions to acoustics, and specialized training tailored to the specific needs.

Worked at my dad's store every day afterschool starting around 1st/2nd grade through high school. Ran the tube tester, made cables for CB radios, helped with customers, etc..It was a family affair with my mom, sister and twin brothers.
