 Support various R&D projects and routine testing in stability lab, as needed. Work directly with scientists and product developers on assessment of physical stability of prototype products as well as test emulsions. Test products, then analyze and assess the results for presentation to product developers and scientists.  Participate in research projects, including designs to see how the individual parts of an emulsion interact and how this affects stability. Testing of powders for glass transition point in support of troubleshooting plant processing problems. Using statistical analysis software and on-site statistician to determine any significant correlations. Write methods for existing equipment and develop new methods for equipment in qualification. This includes experimentation designed to verify method success and repeatability, over many trials. Trained on processing equipment in the on-site plant and manufactured and processed prototype product for testing. Gained significant knowledge of the company products, ingredients and properties as well theory behind how the lab equipment works in order to accurately analyze results. Attended special training sessions for equipment and seminars on new research that was happening. Equipment I was responsible for running includes Particle Size Analyzer by laser diffraction, FPIA microscopy, DHR3 Rheometer, DSC, zeta potential, moisture analyzer, Lumisizer, Hunter color analyzer, viscometers, balances and microscopes. Proficient in emerging technologies and theories that have helped the company further its knowledge of its products.

 Responsible for odor, pH, FTIR, rheology, viscosity, specific gravity, color spectral analysis, appearance, enzyme via gallery analysis, particle size analysis, HPLC, moisture content via Karl Fischer, color absorption via spectroscopy testing and acid base titrations of daily quality control samples from three different product lines, each with a different set of standards and testing methods as well as any special project work or raw materials needing non routine testing. Required to keep strict written and electronic documentation of all testing performed as well as the amounts of sample and chemicals used per test while adhering to proper chain of command protocols beginning with the electronic database entry and printed label for all samples received into the lab. The daily observation of the correct safety practices of others and oneself is encouraged and documented also. To receive and be responsible for all experimental order testing and sampling plans from various project leaders from all three plant product lines, corporate lab, other plants, and contract production facilities or labs and analyze them in order to execute the correct staffing, collection, testing, documentation, and reporting of each order. Generally this requires leading the coordination of fellow contract chemists and various P&G personnel.  Collect samples from production floor, satellite labs, or process areas for special projects or experiments. Trained in proper aseptic techniques when collecting and handling samples for microbial testing.
