Major systems include Siemens Soarian, NextGen, Lawson, and Kronos. Drove organization from a “Data Processing” shop to HIMSS EMRAM level 6 certification. Key among the accomplishments to date:•Guided System to “Most Wired” status after only 2 years in position. System has been on the list for the last 6 consecutive years 2009-2013. •Named to HealthImaging and IT “Top 25” most connected facilities 1 year after implementing enterprise Imaging (PACS) strategy. Recognized 3 consecutive years 2009-2011.•Named one of the top 10 large hospital “Best Hospital IT Departments” 2011 by Healthcare IT News. Finalist in 2012 and 2013.•Implemented EHR (including CPOE above 80%) and financial capabilities to maximize productivity and ROI to the point MedCentral is now a National Showcase Site for the product. HIMSS EMRAM level 6 certification in 2012. Recruited to develop and manage all IT applications for an IDN consisting of two acute care hospitals, medical group practices, a PPO insurance network, and VNA Home Healthcare with nearly 7,000 users in 2 states. Major systems include Cerner, Lawson, IDX (Radiology/PACS and Practice) and Eclipsys. The role of Application Director has been broad and included both Clinical and Financial/Administrative responsibilities in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Key among the accomplishments to date have been:•Development of a proposed $72 million dollar plan for upgrade, conversion and implementation of all clinical systems over the next 5 years to support further build out of our Electronic Health Record.•Co-Chair with physician partner of WellSpan’s Clinical Informatics Committee.•Management of 45 professionals to complete required tasks. Standardized job descriptions and providing coaching/mentoring for direct managers in all aspects of operations.•Development of a clinical applications team consisting of “previously clinical” personnel (holding clinical certifications such as RN, MT, etc.) into an effective IT organization to complete delivery of critical functionality as order management and installation of OR systems. •Management of a capital and operating budget of over 8 million dollars.•Conversion from home grown HR/Payroll system to Lawson.•Development and implementation of a plan for enterprise wide transcription including physician office notes into the corporate Electronic Medical Record.•Facilitated care transformation processes for Nursing to develop common practices in the implementation of clinical care documentation and nursing orders. This included development workflow diagrams, evaluating technology options and redeveloping workflow processes.

Career progression from onsite Business Analyst, Software developer, and Datacenter management to Director level responsible for Implementation of a Managed Care processing system. Performed customer site consulting, WAN/datacenter set up for new customers, application troubleshooting and sales support. Responsible for coordination of system change requests with product group, and “bug” resolution for 10 customers nationally. Established and lead teams to perform system installations, enhancements, and demonstrations. Responsibilities include proposal responses, contract negotiation support, technical management, and direct control of multi-million dollar project profit and loss.

Development of applications to perform various facets of medical research, involving data capture and analysis utilizing PC and mini-based software packages. Performed product safety testing.
