Wollongong

Incorporated the management of all of Centacare’s regional service delivery for families in the diocese of Wollongong. This included the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee LGAS for Family & Relationship Counselling, Family Education Parenting Skills Training, Relationship Education, Children’s Contact Services and EAP subcontract services with ACCESS. Managed a multidisciplinary team of twenty-five permanently employed staff with a further fourteen employed on a casual basis. Co-ordinated service and community development activity, new business activity in Macarthur and Wollongong. With other Centacare’s in Sydney co-ordinated case management of various Family Court and Federal Magistrate Court referrals for family assessment.

e role incorporated management of a multidisciplinary regional team delivering a range of services including Family and Relationship Counselling, Emergency Relief, early intervention for families, group work, community development and case work.I managed teams based at office locations in Wollongong, Nowra, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. Service outlets extended from Sutherland to Ulladulla. I was responsible for a team of thirty-four paid staff and over fifty volunteers.

Incorporated the management of Council’s Youth Service Team.This involved the management of thirty project staff, the development and management of the Wollongong Youth Centre and its suite of programmes and cultural activities. From 93 to 98 the WYC was the largest local government operated youth service in Australia.
