Returned from Smart and safe City meetings in Europe, Asia and Africa, I'm delighted to be focused on Scotland, and building relationships and opportunities here. My perspective has changed, but if anything I appreciate Scotland more.

Tasked with building Fujitsu's Smart City Strategy for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. Analysis of overall Smart Cities Global Market, competitive offerings, and Fujitsu differentiators. I've presented at Cabinet level in Egypt, Pakistan and the UK, and made keynote speeches in Finland, Japan and the UK. I was a Founding Board Member of Mobility as a Service Scotland, looking to expand Fujitsu's offering in the MaaS market.

As Scottish Programme Manager I have worked with several of Fujitsu's main customers, ensuring smooth delivery of programmes of work to achieve both internal and external objectives.

This was a rollout of a totally new Virtualised Desktop to 55,000 users, based throughout the United Kingdom. As well as a new standard desktop being provided in multiple locations, over 1,500 applications were virtualised and made available where there was a business need.

I was very happy to serve on the Board of the MaaS Alliance Scotland. I had a passion for promoting Mobility as a Service throughout Europe in my Smart Cities role for Fujitsu, and I can see several advantages for Scotland as a an ideal market for MaaS implementation. Writing the tender involved obtaining business requirements, defining the non-functional specifications and agreeing commercial terms with the Procurement department. The current UoS system bills around £10 million pounds every week, and is seen as one of ScottishPower’s key systems.Project Office Manager, ScottishPower / Iberdrola SAP Implementation April 2008 – Nov 2009•This was a £23 million program to migrate SP’s Energy Network and Corporate business units to the SAP platform. The team (which totalled 60 at its height) was made up of IT specialists and business subject matter experts from the UK and Spain: I was in charge of the Project Office, responsible for establishing and maintaining project governance across five workstreams. • I set up our risks, issues and dependencies registers, progressed risk management with workstream leads, and chased on issue resolution• I managed change control on the project, commissioning impact analysis papers and making recommendations for progressing changes.• I prepared and presented project reports for users, Project Managers, and IT and Business Steering Groups. I co-designed and facilitated a workshop for one of the candidate groups, carried out telephone interviews with them, and collected "lessons learned" from the project. Designed and piloted training courses in Europe, Russia and the U.S.. Motorola were an early adopter of off-shoring and quality management, and I managed their "Six Steps to Six Sigma" training in 1993 - the first use of Six Sigma in UK manufacturing.
