Managing the day to day continuity of all broadcast output, in total 100+ channels. Producing daily summary reports for senior management as well as detailed major incident reports when required. Liasing with clients and stakeholders at all levels to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted continuation of all Broadcast services as well as Broadcast IT and additional services such as Access and AD. Point of contact and initiator of the company disaster recovery processes.

Managing the day to day continuity of over 100 television channels, including disaster recovery and technical emergencies. Involving continuous client and stakeholder liason 24/7 365.

Leading a small team in the first line response to broadcast outages, as well as in-depth investigation and remediation of faults and trends. Working 24-7 365 myself and my team ensured the continuity initially, of all BBC TV services but later including Virgin, Channel 4 and many other clients.

After joining the BBC I completed the full A,B and C course engineering training progression. At base I worked in all 8 main studios at Television Centre, as well the TV Theatre, Lime Grove, Elstree and the Greenwood theatre. I also completed tours of Sound and Vision facilities.

I joined the Special Projects team for 18 months and worked on many and varied productions, such as the electronic podiums for The Weakest Link and the comms rig for the 2001 General election, as well as Children in need and many other productions, often designing, specifying and delivering equipment to very tight deadlines.

Brooklands Technical College

Between the above dates I was in charge of the oldest Air Training Corps Squadron in Surrey. Managing everything from H&S to training, admin, staff development and much else besides. A truly enormous amount of experience gained in a volunteer organisation. I also achieved a mountain leadership qualification as well!
