I work with adult students online to practice daily conversation and business English on a variety of topics using materials provided by ALC. During each lesson, I strive to provide as much student-talk time as I can, and work to support students in pronunciation, grammar, and intonation. My goal is to provide a fun environment where students feel comfortable enough to make mistakes and challenge themselves.

I enriched the minds of young Japanese teens, helping them develop their English to become active participants in the global community. I did this by designing fun and education activities that engaged their interest and worked on their English skills and strategies. I also designed tests that met mid- and end-of-term curricular requirements, and lobbied successfully for interview-based assessment for first-year high school students. I also helped students become more confident English speakers, through coaching for speech contests and sitting on several judging panels for debate and speech contents.I helped develop the professional skills of my peers and fellow JETs by leading workshops on topics such as fostering communication and improving team-teaching. I was also a member of the 2010 Fukuoka JET Programme Orientation Committee, where I helped organize, develop, and lead a day-long seminar intended to help newly-arrived ALTs acclimatize with their new situations and environments. I also took part in looking out for the welfare of my fellow JETs, acting as Block Leader for the JETs in my area and organizing events that helped us explore Japanese culture.
