Joined the organisation as a H&S advisor to primarily improve the culture within the business. During this short but successful period, I was promoted to SHQE Manager, with the target of upgrading and maintaining certification of 9001 and 18001, and achieving 14001. All three have now been achieved.I have rewritten all procedures as an integrated management system in line with PAS 99. These have been rolled out to all departments within the organisation. Whilst introducing many of the successful initiatives that have proven track records in previous roles I have held, it is now my specific role to improve the SHE culture within the organisation as a whole.Currently looking at the implementation of the International Safety Rating System (ISRS) 6th Edition from DNV GL. As of March 2015, AlphaGary UK was awarded a level 8 for this system.Over a period of 14 months helped our sister Companies in the USA attain their accreditation to Level 7 of ISRS

Design and deliver H&S training packages. This was tied in with auditing of business H&S strategies within a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, retail, distribution and Third Party Logistic (3PL) providers. Develop and compile Health & Safety Manuals for small companies in line with HSG 65, whilst also auditing procedures in line with OHSAS 18001:2007

Reporting to both the site managers and the Group H&S Manager, my role included the introduction of best practice throughout the three GP sites. Inclusive of writing, developing and delivery of both lean and H&S training. Turning GP2 into the top H&S rated site in the business, attaining gold standard within OHSAS 18001:2007 guidelines. (94%)Rewrote all the Risk assessments, and developed SSOW, that are now used throughout the business. Work carried out using HSG 136 workplace transport guidance notes, meant an introduction within the business of best practice when it comes to traffic/pedestrian control.Rewrote 5S principles to suit NYK, and was responsible for delivering the training throughout the UK

Reporting to the Personnel Manager & Managing Director. In control of the training budget, Training Needs and Training & Development plans. Responsible for the upkeep of the award centre (C&G, EMTA. Etc.), as an internal facilitator. To ensure all T&D strategies are put into action within laid down timescales. Developing lesson plans for various training sessions including JIT, kanban, H&S etc. Lead training coordinator/host for TQPS (total quality production systems) which includes most aspects of TPS There is also a need for calculating the hidden costs of training plus evaluating its benefits. Main achievements include implementation of a successful NVQ system, Keeping training within budget for the fifth consecutive year, (Never achieved before) and devising a training session on JIT with the use of ‘Sticklebricks’ (Under licence). Also through training in both Process Instructions and H&S, reducing the number of related accidents by 80%Health & Safety took up to 50% of my day, ensuring new and existing legislation is covered within the working environment. I am looked upon as the competent person when issues of H&S arise, and indeed am relied on should matters reach external stages. i.e. HSE, tribunal etc. This role was preceded by my role as a production manager for the same company
