Estimating time and cost estimates for individual wells and the entire drilling phase of the project. Researching offset fields for analogous wells and experiences.

Planned and drilled challenging, long (2100 – 2400m horizontal reservoir section) subsea wells through collapse prone reservoirs in Gullfaks Satellite fields with the DeepSea Atlantic dual derrick semi-submersible rig. Activities included top section drilling, slot recovery (permanent P&A), geological and technical sidetracks, geo-steering, and some multi-lateral (ML) planning. Optimized equipment and services selection, BHA design, hydraulics, torque and drag, and drilling parameters. Post well analysis presented to peers via experience transfers.•Saved 8 rig days and delivered 10% below budget, through application of new casing design and mud system (WARP) to successfully drill depleted reservoir with tight drilling window. Guide Program Engineers and Directional Drillers in bit selection, BHA design, hydraulics, torque and drag, and drilling parameter optimization to minimize shock and vibrations. Provide real time bit/BHA failure determination and anti-collision analysis and recommendations.
