Commander | Mission Support Officer
Directed activities of as many as 1,400 personnel and administered $37 - $52+ million budget on Air Force bases with 5,500+ reserve and active duty members. Bases were missioned with moving cargo and personnel to locations worldwide at a moment's notice (within 24 hours). Typically oversaw 12 direct reports.* Provided ground-level management required to sustain all base infrastructure and public safety requirements within military installations. * Ensured base services and civil engineering support availability for mission requirements and base needs for 987 to 2,500 acre military complexes.* Spearheaded technology revitalization of an antiquated communications infrastructure. * Andrews Air Force Base: Laid out new local area network; sourced for hardware augmentation (from 200 to 1,200 units); and implemented of a series of updates to bring tech function of the organization into 21st century. Saved government roughly $2 million by utilizing available resources from other agencies.* Oversaw planning, scheduling, and implementation of base operating support programs to meet local and combat mission requirements. * Evaluated supervisors and reviewed evaluations made by supervisors for their assigned employees. * Represented Commander in communications with other military components, state/local governments, local media, business, and other groups.* Collaborated with the Commander and other leaders throughout strategic planning processes; served on two career field development teams (logistics), as well as centralized promotion boards for officers.* Directed development and implementation of local military personnel policies and procedures.
