Michael is a graduate of the European Union-funded #AI4Gov masters programme run by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Politecnico di Milano, which focuses on future leaders of digital transformation for the increased development and adoption of AI in the public sector. He started his career as a graduate media designer in the creative and advertising sector and moved a few years later to the client side, specialising in the technology and applied research sector on the basis of a Masters degree in Communication Economics and Management. Today, Michael has more than 15 years of experience as a communications officer and marketing professional in the Austrian high-tech sector. He is an advocate for human-centred and trustworthy AI as a prerequisite for a competitive, digitally-ready and data-sovereign Europe. Among others, his work focuses on disinformation and its threat to the basic principles of democracy, new technological concepts and tools to protect them. He also has a deep understanding of AI selection, evaluation and deployment for the public sector. Michael is a Jury Member of Austria's largest IT business prize, the "eAward," evaluating groundbreaking digitization projects across the DACH region. Additionally, he serves as a Jury Member for the OVE Austrian Electrotechnical Association's annual science video competitions LETs TECH," which inspire pupils and students to engage with technology and innovation.
