I am a qualified chartered accountant with over two decades of experience, starting Ascendant Wealth after 18 years in the corporate world. I became successful early on in my career by landing my first CFO role only 6 years post qualification and continued as CFO for 9 years in charge of various companies in different types of industries, including one listed on the London Stock Exchange (AIM).Throughout my corporate career, I successfully overhauled finance functions, implemented sound financial and management controls and achieved a complete turnaround and restructuring of a business turning massive losses into profits. During this time, I developed the skills and passion for fixing and transforming businesses no matter what the underlying issues were. Taking these skills and passion, together with my vision of assisting those in need, I founded Ascendant Wealth to assist companies in need of financial and business tools and advice.Based in Cape Town South Africa, the company focuses on financial and business consulting for small to medium sized companies across the country. Through my experience, I found that many finance people did not understand the underlying operations of their business, and in the similar way, many business owners and operations people did not understand the finances of their business. My approach throughout my career has been to ensure an understanding of the businesses I work with and to assist business owners and operations people in better understanding the finances of their company.
