Michael specializes in complex program business captives and risk retention groups. From 1976 until August 2004, when Beecher Carlson purchased his company he was the founder and CEO of RiskCap, one of the country’s leading independent multi domicile captive consulting, feasibility, design and management firms. His experience includes working as a claims adjuster for Liberty Mutual, as a vice president of a regional commercial lines insurance brokerage firm, and in risk management roles at Samsonite and PepsiCo. For fifteen years he served as a consultant to the Hawaii Division of Insurance reviewing captive applications for licensure and has served in a similar capacity for the state of Nevada. Michael has been extensively published with leading articles appearing in Risk Management, Financial Executive, Cashflow, Business Insurance, CFO, Small Business Report, Captive Insurance Reports, Insurance Report, Global Reinsurance, Risk Retention Reporter, Best’s Review, Captive Review, and Big Builder.
