My current role is Assistant Vice President responsible for National Accounts Underwriting, with a focus on New Business at The Hartford. I've worked in Underwriting for 14 years and have experience working in all market segments.In my current role, I lead a team of Underwriting Directors and National Account Underwriters with average industry experience of 10+ years. My team is responsible for partnering with a sales team to grow our relationships with the key producers in the group benefits industry. Through these key partnerships, and disciplined underwriting, we have been successful in growing our book of business through new business acquisition as well as preservation of current customers. This has been accomplished while also raising profit margins above target levels.I feel strongly that a passionate and engaged team is the most productive. I foster employee engagement through interactive team meetings, encouraging underwriters to own the recommendation, sharing key results and celebrating wins. A team built on passion, ethics and intelligence is key to driving toward great results.I'm a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
