My main roles included leading a team of Set Up staff who along with myself were required to ensure each Wedding Suite was properly set and dressed for any upcoming wedding, viewing or Open Day we were hosting. In my role, I was required to create a rota making sure that adequate staff were always available for such duties. Setting up also involved preparing rooms for Civil Ceremonies. I liaised with each couple in the build up to their day, making sure that we fully understood their needs and they were aware of what was required of them also, so as to enable us to make their wishes a reality. This could be requests such as asking that their final table plan is with us in time for us to set their suite appropriately, and the finer details such as knowledge of guests that require any additional space, or knowledge of tables seating children. This allowed me and my team to place their wedding favours or additional belongings. These details were very important for adding that personal touch, in turn creating better reviews long term and generating more business for the venue. It was also my job to dress any floral or lighting decorations. I was responsible for the upkeep of each suite and maintaining good communication with the maintenance staff, advising them of any repairs or adjustments needed. Weekly, I ordered any new table linens from the supplier, or décor as required. I always ensured to report to the General Manager, keeping up to date with their needs and anything that was required of me.

I travelled anywhere across the island of Ireland to do so, always working on my own initiative and performing all manner of responsibilities related to the role such as administrative duties, meeting with clients and organising and instructing others employed to work as a part of the ceremony on any given day. This was a highly pressurised role and a very demanding industry which is very much suited to my skill set. I was required to regularly attend Wedding Fairs to generate more business for the company and attend any staff training required of me, keeping me to date with industry trends and legal requirements. -
