• Leading the audit team and planning the audit approach to ensure that the engagement is completed in an efficient manner and within budget.• Developing and maintaining client relationships.• Liaising with client finance team to obtain relevant audit information and to resolve queries / issues identified.• Supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff members while on site and ensuring the audit file is prepared to a high standard.• Assisting with the development and mentoring of trainees and junior staff.• Communicating with management regarding audit issues identified and status of audit engagement.• Clearing manager / partner reviews and bringing audit file to conclusion stage.• Ensuring that all matters which are required to be reported to management have been brought to the management letter and to the attention of the partner.• Liaising with other departments within the firm to ensure that assignments are completed in an efficient manner.• Preparation of entity / consolidated financial statements and ensuring full compliance with Irish & UK GAAP / IFRS.• Attendance at year end stock take procedure and completion of stock take reports.• Audit of grants issued by EU and Irish funding bodies.• Audit of both defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes.
