- Assisting biotech startups and individuals with laboratory site setup, equipment procurement, budget planning, process development, and laboratory operations.

- Led a team responsible for completing in vitro experiments used to characterize Exicure’s Spherical Nucleic Acid (SNA) technology. Programs involved pain, genetic neurodegenerative diseases, and genetic hair-loss disorders. - Coordinated laboratory activities for internal and external programs. Worked with project management to plan high-throughput screens from compound delivery, cell treatment, qRT-PCR/ELISA processing, and data delivery. - Managed individuals with a wide range of specialties. This included automation, high-throughput screening, protein assay development, neuronal culture, and assay development. - Continued to act as lead scientist on genetic hair loss program with Allergan; Improved assays to screen SNAs for Huntington’s disease. - Improved workflow- Developed experiment tracker and team schedule in Smartsheets, worked with management to improve prioritization, and mentored research associates on data quality/time management.

- Managed external collaborations with Allergan/Abbvie from in silico design through preclinical characterization. Maintained timelines, planned experiments, coordinated research staff, conducted data analysis, and prepared scientific reports for upper management. - Oversaw internal research on therapeutics for genetic diseases of the lung, skin, and eye.

- Validated SNA activity by conducting qPCR, protein analysis, and pathway engagement. - Prepared summary slide decks of experimental results for the R&D director to present at group meetings. - Completed a high-throughput siRNA screen to investigate transcription factors’ roles in regulating genes associated with cystic fibrosis to identify new potential therapeutic targets. - Acted as a contact for vendors and maintained expenditure records for several NIH grants. - Maintained laboratory equipment for a program with five Principal Investigators and their staff.
