Research focus/frameworkApplied Linguistics, (L2) Language Socialization, Qualitative Methods (Interviews/Narrative Inquiry)Current research activities/interests:Currently completing my dissertation on the academic socialization of adult postsecondary English language learners (ELLs). The study examines the various constraints and affordances of intensive 'college-prep' ESL for learners of various socio-educational backgrounds. I examine the sociocultural dimensions of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) across a range of institutional (i.e., internationalization), curricular (language & content), and instructional (e.e., delivery, assessment) practices. I also examine the 'after life' of the focal program in terms on its impact on learner socialization across subsequent academic/career pathways.Secondary research activities/interests:- exploring research collaborations in the field of dementia care and personhood- exploring applications of Language Socialization to aging across the lifecourse (e.g., institutional discourse, individual agency, identity) Related experience (various):- Graduate Research Assistant (Dr J.
