I am the Executive Director of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB). The ICPRB is an interstate compact commission established by Congress in 1940. Its mission is to protect and enhance the waters and related resources of the Potomac River basin through science, regional cooperation, and education. In addition, I am continuing my volunteer service as a Board Member of the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, having previously served as its Chairman from 2018 through 2021. My background includes being the executive director/CEO of four successful non-profits: the Montgomery Parks Foundation (2015 to 2018), the C&O Canal Trust (2013 to 2014), the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (2005-2012), and the Arlington Outdoor Lab (2005 to 2017). I obtained a Certificate of Executive Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University in 2012. My leadership experience also includes serving as a political appointee in a variety of posts, including as Chairman of the East Falls Church Task Force and Chairman of the Arlington County Transportation Commission. I have been honored with several awards, including being named a Washington Life "Green City Leader" in 2011 and a "Hometown Hero" by WETA in 2007. Prior to making a career change to the non-profit sector, I worked as an attorney for 18 years and secured five multi-million dollar recoveries for Fortune 500 companies in large scale insurance coverage cases.
