At Skytap I have the honor of leading and managing a world-wide Cloud Solutions Architecture (CSA) team across North America, EMEA, and APAC with the focus on driving legacy applications to the Cloud that run on IBM Power Systems and VMware that are built as dedicated offerings in Microsoft Azure and IBM Cloud.Skytap CSAs take a leading role with their Skytap Account Executives, Azure and IBM Cloud field teams to land new customers, work closely with them to drive first workload success, and then continue to drive adoption. Power Systems in the Cloud today are a "what is old is new" technology. It is a fascinating dichotomy that myself and my team learn more about with each customer. In one customer action we may be working with our Azure counterparts to determine the ideal ExpressRoute configuration between a customer's on-premises datacenter to Skytap running in Azure, and then in the next meeting working with a customer's ERP applications on IBM I that haven't been touched in ten years and moving them to the latest version of the IBM I system. Once migrated into Skytap on Azure, those systems can now take full advantage of advanced Cloud native applications such as PowerBI and Cosmo DB.With IBM Cloud, our team frequently works with large IBM focused Enterprises where IBM Cloud is the chosen destination for their legacy workloads. Here our team of CSAs work with their IBM Counterparts to build out solutions that integrate with IBM's other Power offerings such as IBM Systems Power Virtual Server.Our team of CSAs is managed to work closely with each other, and every individual managed to be a leader within the organization. We believe in one goal, and one mission—That is the success of our customers and we work tirelessly to get there.
