Dragon Intrusion Detection Engine Project lead for redesign effort to migrate the product to a web-based solution. Rewrote the server application interface from J2EE (EJB/JMS) to a REST (Restlet) implementation to support a new JavaScript (Sencha ExtJs) front end and an extensive restructuring of the hibernate/MySQL data store and persistence layer.Senior contributor to the initial Dragon effort that included the JBoss Application Server, EJB (Enterprise Java Beans) and XML implantation. Focused on the server side Hibernate/MySQL backend, the J2EE EJB/JMS server application interface, the JAXB marshaling of generated XML configuration files and the HTML based live-update of detection signatures.Avaya Server Integration into NetSightDeveloped JAX-RS based REST service allowing Avaya engines to report status and system information. The WorkTop product was implemented on Windows NT using IIS, MTS and SQL. Development was primarily done in HTML/ASP, VBScript/JScript, with business logic developed using Visual Basic COM objects.IMAP4 Mail Service DevelopmentProject lead for a Windows NT based service which allows standard IMAP4 client access into Banyan’s Intelligent Messaging (IM) mail store. The product was implemented using Microsoft VC++, Source Safe 5.0 on a Windows NT Server running Banyan’s StreetTalk for NT product.Windows NT Kernel/Application DevelopmentTechnical lead for the Version 5 release of Banyan’s VINES NT Client product which allowed a Windows NT client to log into Banyan’s VINES network and gain access to file, print, mail and directory services. Network Analysis and RestructuringVolunteered for a six-month assignment to restructure a critical internal engineering network that was having major performance and reliability issues. The contributions directly affected the ability to make a critical release date for the Banyan VINES 5.50 release and resulted in a redesign of the engineering network.SNMP Network ManagementSenior engineer involved in the specification and implementation of an SNMPv2 platform for Banyan VINES. LAN Driver DevelopmentResponsible for the development and integration of VINES Server LAN NIC drivers and the enhancement and maintenance of existing drivers. Basic Rate ISDNWorked with Banyan European Field Support to determine requirements for a tactical ISDN project with a French Integration House (Ouromoff) which allowed VINES servers to periodically call up remote sites and transfer time critical pricing information using Basic Rate ISDN lines.
