I hold a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Rhodes University and an MBA from GIBS. I developed a strong interest in solution driven problem solving whilst studying and have aimed to apply this focus through my career to date. Informed by having been a management consultant with Lighthouse Strategic Leadership for several years, I undertook and MBA at GIBS to improve my foundation in business theory. I then, I joined Blue Label Telecoms in a management and business analyst capacity in the Big Data team. We have grown that function to be a separate business entity called BluNova which that houses the Data Science capability within the BLT Group. In this role, I draw on several aspects from my scientific and business backgrounds to support business development through effective application of data to provide relevant insight. I am a proactive, results oriented, grounded individual and am driven by understanding how and why systems work. Although I am confident in my ability to work and think independently, I thoroughly enjoy working in a team environment. My current focus remain the development of BluNova and to support the rest of the businesses in the BLT group.

Though initially primarily a business development role, in latter years my role shifted to leading the technology and analytics team of BluNova. BLT is the largest aggregator and distributor of prepaid products in the South African market, with products that include airtime, electricity, SIM cards, tickets, and many others. BluNova focused on extracting actionable insight for the group companies, and developing new business opportunity informed by our data sets which we actively enrich from multiple sources. -
