Michael co-founded Dutchess Capital in 1996, which has invested in and advised over 250 companies globally for a total transactional value of over $1 billion. He currently co-manages the firm’s corporate advisory and communications practice and has served as a director on the boards of select portfolio companies. Previously, as a member of the firm’s investment committee, Michael has managed the firm’s trading and risk management, regulatory compliance and general business matters, and engineered the firm’s earlier expansion into Europe, Asia, Australia, and Latin America.He also co-managed the firm’s distressed portfolio in post-2008, and has extensive experience in strategic advisory, corporate restructurings, workouts and pivots, having led portfolio companies through divestitures, asset sales, ABCs, M&A and bankruptcies, while serving at times as interim CEO or CFO through transitions.Michael’s experience has been primarily in the Tech, IoT, Media, Financial, Healthcare, Consumer Staples & CPG, Business Services sectors, with an increased focus on generative AI/LLMs.He is also a co-founder and current CEO of Omnily LLC (dba SwiftSift), a disruptive AI-driven mobile app that provides individuals and groups with a means to engage with consumer establishments. Michael has 30+ years’ financial securities experience which includes asset management, corporate advisory, trading and investment banking. He began his investment career with PaineWebber and previously held positions in corporate accounting and finance. Michael graduated with a BS in Business from the University of South Florida and completed post-graduate Business studies at Colorado State University. He previously held Series 7, 63 and 65 registrations.
