CreatorBidmyspec.Com Nov 2012 - Mar 2013Seeing a gap in the construction industry and with an old school friend we created the sectors first line-item Reverse Auctions (RA’s) website. Bidmyspec.com allows Buyers to post the items of materials they need to by and sellers bid for the prices at which they are willing to sell their goods and services online. In a regular auction, a seller puts up an item and buyers place bids until the close of the auction, at which time the item goes to the highest bidder. On the BMS portal procurement mangers post a request for required good or service suppliers then bid in a live blind sequence for the amount they are willing to be paid for the good or service. At the end of the auction the supplier with the lowest amount wins. Using the BMS portal we saved one of Ireland largest construction companies over half a million euros with an average of 22.5% lower than their previous best prices on 80 auctions!!!

Business Development ManagerMercury Middle East Jun 2004 - May 2006Mercury established its Middle East Division in June 2004 in Doha, Qatar and as a long time employee of our Irish operation I was stationed to lead our Business Development activities. Today Mercury Middle East (MME) is one of this region's premier engineering providers with operations in Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and Abu Dhabi and a capability to operate across the whole Middle East. During my time at MEE I had the pleasure of working with a great team of people that steered our business development activities from a standing start to a turnover in excess of $100,000,000! My team secured contracts at the world famous Museum of Islamic Art (www.mia.org.qa) worth $55,000,000, a contract worth over $75,000,000 at Qatar Science & Technology Park (www.qstp.org.qa), and notably Mercury Engineering’s largest ever contract the complete mechanical, electrical & plumbing (MEP) works at Qatar Foundations Sidra Medical Hospital (www.sidra.org) worth in excess of $350,000,000. MEE also undertook prestigious contracts on World Trade Centre in Bahrain, the Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Oman, the infrastructural package at Barwa City in Qatar and we acted as the Management Contracting entity on the Royal College of Surgeons Bahrain. As a relatively new contractor in the MENA region our staffing now surpasses 700 and offers the services of Turnkey Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Data Technologies subcontracting services, Interior-Fitouts, Maintenance & Facilities Management.Above all our greatest achievement was achieving ISO9000 status within our second year of operation.
