My principal role has been the assessment of the collateral, finances and administrative systems of business seeking working capital finance with Barclays. Following a preliminary review undertaken offsite, an onsite assessment of assets, systems and processes is undertaken. The assessment findings and recommendations are summarised within a report which is utilised by the credit team to assess the suitability of the loan. Onsite assessments are extensive in scope but also require a quick turnaround so strong management, interpersonal, analytical and administrative skills are necessary in order to undertake the assessments effectively.I have also had a teaching role within the team at Barclays and have devised and presented training sessions on understanding a business through the trial balance, utilising Sage 50 accounts, along with excel training courses. These courses have been delivered to colleagues across the corporate bank.I was also heavily involved in a comprehensive re-working of the excel workbook utilised by auditors across the team. VBA Macros were used to automate many of the tasks that had previously been undertaken manually . In light of the above I have been recognized as Auditor of the Year on 3 occasions, most recently in December 2015, and also awarded a 'Way ahead award' for innovation and contributions to the team.

Oversight of the Statutory Audit function of the AIM's practice in Sheffield who represented the franchise nationally. I was involved in the planning and the undertaking of fieldwork across the portfolio. The practice had a particular emphasis on the Charity and Not for Profit Sector with both local and national charities represented. I was also involved in accounts preparation and taxation particularly around the 31 January self assessment deadline.I spent time as an interim FC for an engineering company following the abrupt departure of the incumbent. Time was spent working in the business producing cash flow forecasts and management account.

I worked as an Audit Semi Senior in this vibrant city centre practice with a particular emphasis on the SME sector covering engineering and haulage. My time was split 60:40 between statutory audits and accounts preparation. I was also involved in management accounts preparation and cashflow forecasting developing a close relationship with clients . I also attended night school to train for the ACCA qualification.

I was offered a traineeship at Bainbridge and Oldfield after working at the practice as a summer Job whilst at University. I Commenced the ACCA training programme whilst working as an audit Junior. Industries covered included a national insulation company and a number of local solicitor where we audited compliance with solicitors accounts rules.
