I was employed as an intermediate tester with Cognotec I have over the past; been involved in testing Cognotec's AutoDeal+, RealStream Rate Manager & RealStream Margin platforms, primarily as an integration tester involving but not exclusively back office functions. Duties included; Writing Test phase analysis documents, test cases and executing all test cases for the application, Regression Testing, Training of staff members, Interviewing potential candidates, writing test processes documents, Contact for UAT Client testing, Professional Services, Customer Support, System Setup, Rate maintenance, Investigation of client production issues, executing automated test scripts using QTP and JMeter tools. I am also fulfilling an implementation engineer role this also includes deploying and implementation of test systems for the testing department within the company. This is in combination with a non functional testing role that includes the following duties; performance, failover, connectivity & scalability testing.

I participated in a 6 week contract of functional testing of a Java application GUI (front end and backend) for the messaging suite of products on HP-UX and Solaris platform. Duties included; Writing test cases and executing all test cases for the application, Sanity testing of application.

During my time employed at Critical Path, I was involved in two roles within the QA department. QA Sustaining Engineer; Responsible for testing patch releases before being released to customers. Test coverage included testing bug fixes to ensure the fixes were valid, and regression testing to make sure the fixes did not affect any other features of the product. Testing involved the testing of the Meta-Directory against different directory servers and databases, the following products were included in the test cycle. (Critical Path Directory Server 4.0,4.1; iPlanet Directory Server 5.0,5.1,4.13; IBM Secureway Directory Server 3.2.2,3.2.3,4.1 Novell Directory Server 8.5.1,8.6.1) (Lotus Notes 5.0; SQL Data Server 7.0, Oracle Data Servers 8.0.5,8I,9I; DB2 7.2;) on NT and Solaris platforms; All regression tests were automated and were written in Perl, the total numbers of tests executed were around 3500. Duties also included investigating customer issues, outside the sustaining process.QA Engineer; Responsible for testing core releases. I was involved in writing and executing test cases. Developing a high-level test plan and executing the high-level test plan. During this period I worked on Meta Directory Release 3.2,3.3 and the Administration Console for the Enterprise Messaging Server.1.0 Both applications were tested on NT and Solaris platforms.

On FAS placement I was responsible for development & execution of functional tests within various platforms as a member of a QA test team.I solely developed a test plan, for functional testing of an Enterprise LDAP compliant Directory Server. I formulated, developed and executed functional test cases. Logging of errors on a automated bug base as a member of test team I was responsible for the logging of, providing further information and closing bugs, throughout various testing environments, in conjunction with the software development team.
