Affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, BBBS Lone Star serves approximately 8-9,000 at-risk children each year with a Big Brother/Big Sister mentor. BBBS Lone Star is headquartered in Irving, Texas and has satellite offices in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Brownwood, San Angelo, Stephenville, Waco, Houston, Denton, Frisco, Sherman and Paris. Overseeing all Program operations, from volunteer recruitment and child enrollment to matching, match support, activities, volunteer recognition, outcome evaluation, etc. Work closely with the agency's leadership team (coordinating with all other departments), the leaders in each of the BBBS Lone Star markets, and serve as the Program/Recruitment face to our Board of Directors and community partners and stakeholders.

Dallas, Texas

While the SW Key program was temporarily housed in Dallas (due to flooding of their Houston facility), I was responsible for individual and group counseling for all clients in the residential treatment program temporarily located in Dallas, Texas. I was also responsible for the development of admissions and diagnostic assessments.

Over my five years at Lena Pope Home (a facility for emotionally/behaviorally disturbed youth), I served directly in a group home as a Family Teacher for two years and in adminstrative roles for three (handling child admissions for one and serving for two years as the Director of Auxillary Services over the agency's independent living facility and emergency shelter. I was also a foster parent during two of those years. I earned the Child Administrator's Licenses from the State of Texas during that time, carrying it over to my job as Program Director at Presbyterian Children's Services--a sister Teaching Family Association organization.

Right out of college I took a direct practice job at the Waco Center for Youth, an MHMR program serving youth, ages 10-18, with emotional disturbance diagnosis. I served on the staff at the cottage for girls ages 10-14.
