My responsibilities include managing the Chamber’s business recruitment program and staff. Marketing and promoting the Oklahoma City metropolitan area as a business location to local, national and international firms and consultants. Includes developing and negotiating prospect services and incentives. I also work with the Chamber’s Business Retention and Expansion staff to support the growth of existing firms as well as assist Chamber leadership in providing policy analysis and recommendations on decisions or initiatives being considered by the City Council and other organizations that impact the local economy or business climate. I am also responsible for managing and coordinating the Chamber's organizational and program support for the Greater Oklahoma City Partnership, a 10-county regional economic development partnership.
I managed and participated in all phases of the business retention, expansion and recruitment processes. Marketed and promoted the Portland metropolitan area as a business location. Developed and negotiated services and incentives provided to firms. I managed and oversaw the provision of organizational and program support to the Portland Regional Partners for Business, a 6-county regional economic development partnership. I acted as one of the Commission’s authorities and advisors to public and private sector organizations on economic, regulatory, business development and related issues. He designed and directed consultant research addressing issues affecting the area's economy, labor force, industry make-up, and competitive advantages/disadvantages. While at PDC, Mike was responsible for the location or expansion of over 80 companies, which directly added more than 12,000 new jobs to the region’s economy.
Developed, implemented and managed economic development projects, work program and budget. Coordinated with pubic agencies, private organizations and development interests. Managed staff and consultant studies and reports analyzing the technical, financial and political feasibility and impact of proposed development projects and programs.
Responsible for analysis and forecasting of economic, demographic and land use data. Assisted in the regional review of local comprehensive plans to assure Statewide Land Use Planning Goal compliance and regional coordination. Assisted in the design and implementation of a regional land market monitoring system to measure the impacts of the Portland Area Regional Urban Growth Boundary on the price and availability of land.
