Primarily focused on PMM, an open-source solution for monitoring databases and related infrastructure. Some of my responsibilities include:- PMM Advisors runtime - a Go/Starlark runtime that automates issues detection and recommends database best practices to users.- Backup management - leverage industry-standard tools like Xtrabackup and Percona Backup for MongoDB to provide database backup and restore management to users of PMM.- Alerting - Leverages Grafana Alerting to provide custom alert templates and rules to users.

- Responsible for the design and development of a new notification service based on AWS SQS/SNSthat saw overall system reliability grow by ~10%.- Worked with teammates to bring alerting and tracing to existing services to measure andimprove system observability/mean-time-to-response.- Participate in regular on-call rotations with customer support to resolve user issues.

Worked as a backend engineer on the core product team, with outputs such as:- Help design and implement a Go-based referral system.- Improve endpoint latency with async processing in RabbitMQ.- Improve platform stability with proper end-to-end tests based on the standard Go testing library.- Participate in regular on-call rotations with customer support to resolve user issues.

MariaDB histograms are compact data summaries used by the query optimizer to plan querieseffectively.I worked on adding support for JSON as an on-disk histogram format. This allows MariaDB to store more metadata, and support even more histogram formats.

- Working on building a scalable remote storage for Prometheus rule evaluations in the Thanos project, while learning about distributed systems, gRPC, cloud-native observability, and its ecosystem.- Build and improve end-to-end tests to catch regressions.

- Build internal APIs and Slack integrations to ease adminstrative tasks and system observability.- Pushed for, and wrote the API documentation to help cross-team collaboration.- Improved legacy codebase using PHPUnit and PHPCodeSniffer for tests and linting.- Responsible for management and administration of MySQL servers running on AWS RDS.
