Thought leadership & strategy (25%):•Strategically develop and lead the work of FOLU Kenya, including interventions that will operationalize and deliver on food systems transformation •Represent the coalition in high level meetings in government, civil society and private sector, nationally and internationally•Explore and act on opportunities for cross-collaboration and cross-learning between FOLU Kenya and the rest of the global coalition including other country platforms2. People and program management (25%): •Provide overall leadership and oversight in the day-to-day operations of FOLU Kenya with respect to human resources, finance, programming and risk management3. Outreach and Engagement (25%): •Oversee FOLU Kenya’s communications and public relations strategy •Provide visible leadership and establish, cultivate, and facilitate relationships with key stakeholders to advance a FOLU approach in agriculture, food, and land use forums4. -Providing Information and Training on the SAN/Rainforest Alliance certification program:A point of contact for farmers and stakeholders in the region; attend technical questions on the certification program; Lead and enable training of trainers; promote Rainforest Alliance’s training tools & monitor the use of these tools; Help detect systemic issues with training needs, compliance and audit effectiveness in order to assist in mitigating risks and continuous improvement of the certification program; Develop training materials; Be a key innovator for agriculture certification work; -Tea and Coffee Specialist Manage relationships with major contacts in the tea and coffee sectors; Improve the certification program’s positioning in the tea and coffee sectors through providing technical expertise in meetings with key stakeholders and companies, participation in conferences, round tables, platforms and coalitions, company field visits; Serve as the Landscapes and Livelihoods focal point for managing risks and crises resulting from stakeholder complaints; As expert and innovator, actively engage and contribute with Development, Markets Transformation, and others as needed for the design of new field projects which will trigger more certification/sustainable supply chains work; Contribute to the Landscapes and Livelihoods tea and coffee strategies, annual planning and reporting, and studies to assess results and impact-Representation and CommunicationBe a point of contact for Rainforest Alliance staff and representatives for certification-related matters that are beyond the scope and services of individual certification bodies, and provide inputs on relevant topics such as Marketplace 2, sector issues, risk management; Represent Rainforest Alliance to external stakeholders, both nationally and internationally; Generate stories and case studies from the field for use in Rainforest Alliance Communication and Fundraising.

Under the Ford Foundation Financial Literacy pilot project: • Participating in a train of trainers workshop to align the project methodology and the M&E system, which included a method to document effectiveness and impact • Conducting a Diagnostic of training needs among one group (representing about 3,000 farmers) through meetings with group administrator and farmers • Delivering a work plan addressing all aspects of the training design: • Prioritizing contents for the financial literacy trainings and best methodological approaches taking in account the results of the initial diagnostic on the group• Adaptation of training material to Kenya context, as necessary• Including a train of trainer workshop for promoter farmers to become extentionists• Organizing the delivery of approximately 400 2-3 hour sessions to reach 102 groups of 30 farmers (around 3,000 farmers) on financial literacy and record-keeping skills, including training of 6 extension officers and 6 Lead Farmers that would be the Farmer Field School facilitators in charge of delivering the training to the farmer’s groups• Coordinating with the local partner, KTDA in all activities, keeping them informed of the progress and solving any logistical problem • Providing technical assistance to the promoter farmers after the workshops to follow-up on farmers’ implementation and use of skills acquired at trainings, through field visits • Documenting and providing M&E for completed training activities; • Determining the number of completed farmer ledgers • Documenting changes in farmers’ record-keeping practices & financial training needs of farmers by collecting relevant indicators during training workshops, and; • Coordinating with implementing partners and regional staff to define workshop agendas.
