- Maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 2008 environments that are the backbones of ourcrucial financial and study-related data and applications- Checking OS event logs and SQL Server event logs for unusual events, verifying all scheduled jobs have run successfully, confirming backups have been made and successfully saved to a secure location, regularly monitoring and identifying blocking issues, creating SQL Server alerts and regularly restoring backups in order to verify that such can be restored successfully, etc.- Performs database consistency checks on all production databases on a daily basis to make sure that no database corruption has taken place. - Establishes the best backup recovery method for your databases and assigns the recovery model for the database that fits the backup plan. Makes sure that full, differential and transaction logs backups are configured correctly for each databases and that these are scheduled to reflect the assign recovery point objective.- Periodically runs an index defrag on the SQL Server databases to prevent performance degradation because of index fragmentation. Makes suggestions on what indexes are required based on queries being run on the table. Updates table statistics to help optimize queries for the query optimizer.- Understands T-SQL and how to write queries that will upgrade the performance of the application and it's queries.- Examines execution plans and determine the best course of action to promote database engineefficiency through the use of efficient indexes and proper coding- Provides best practice and recommendations to virtualized SQL Server environments in order to prevent performance degradation for example in cases such as ballooning and memory swapping- Works with SAN / Network Administrator in identifying possible network and disk I/O latency that might affect SQL Server performance

- Responsible for Equipment Deployment, Software Installations, Hardware / Software Updates, Student Information System, Data Export for State Reporting (STARS), Server Updates, Account Management (students, teachers and other users), Licensing Maintenance, Security Maintenance, Email Account Maintenance, Backups and Inventory of Equipment and Software- Managed and maintained a total of 400+ computers in the school, all of which are running Windows 2000 and XP, connected to the school network and work inside a Windows Server 2003 server-client environment.- Responsible for network installations, which included cabling and client configuration; printer setup which includes brand new installations, making printer available for network sharing and changing toner cartridges; network camera deployment for daily surveillance; administering accounts using Active Directory and controlling computer policies using Group Policy; equipment deployment which includes computer restoration, installing necessary software programs and securing client computers against viruses as well as outside intrusions; configuration of network composer, firewall and wireless access points to only accept legitimate client computers and access; and organized user email accounts for all users and managed the school’s domain.- Member of the Strategic Planning Team, which helped automate repetitive tasks

- I developed software programs for the different departments of the university using Delphi and Visual Studio .NET as the RAD (Rapid Application Development) programming software and MS SQL Server for its database.- I developed user-friendly programs such as inventory and billing, accounting systems, payroll program, transcript programs and human resource management information systems. I made available online services such as student ledger online and payment notice forms developed using ASP Web technology. I train personnel and users in the usage of the different university programs and other computer related functions.- Completed projects include: Accounts Receivable and Payable System, Buildings and Grounds Inventory and Billing System, Multimedia Center Revenue Collections Program, University Inventory Program, Cafeteria Fixed Board Program, Student Housing and Residence Division Information System, Human Resource Development Information System, Transcript Program, Silliman University Payroll Program and Student On-line Services (Student Ledger and Payment Info Submission).

- I control, organize and administer various MS SQL Server databases and data backups as well asrestorations and disaster recovery plans in case of data emergencies like hard drive and network failures.- I monitor MS SQL Server 7.0/2000 databases and perform tasks and procedures that updates different sorts of information which services the different departments of the University as well as the student body such as student and financial information (grades, schedules, ledger, etc.). I manage data structures and objects like tables, indexes, triggers, identity columns, stored procedures and user / roles, etc. into different SQL Server databases and at the same time oversee data integrity checks to ensure that the data as well as the database servers aren’t compromised in any way.

- I oversee the internet infrastructure of the whole university, perform IP configurations, configure policies on Sitara bandwidth manager for proper allocation of internet bandwidth, troubleshoots physical connections and software configurations, uplifts and insures internet productivity through an Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) server, monitors and programs web-based library online public catalog and students online services and answers general internet problems. I made secure the internet infrastructure through proper and tight configuration of policies and rules into our 3Com and SonicWall 3060 Firewalls as well as in the ISA Server. I installed and monitored the wireless Building to Building bridge (B2B) from the Marine Lab to the Medical Center 2 KM (kilometers) apart for internet connectivity to both the Silliman University Marine Laboratory and the College of Agriculture. I as well administered wireless internet connection to three other university buildings.
