Responsible for efficient setup and management of Information Systems at the DNDi Regional office at Nairobi, Kenya.

- To assist with setting up data management systems for the data centre together with the implementation, review and monitoring of those systems.- To design, set up and validate databases and data entry screens for research projects and prepare the necessary documentation for this.- To develop, write and test data range and inconsistency checks.- To ensure that data queries are raised and resolved in a timely and accurate manner.- To provide feedback and training to study teams regarding common data errors.- To supervise, train data assistants and data entry staff.- To provide input into case report form development.- To contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the data team, in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP)- To coordinate data entry and other data management activities both at trial sites and DC (including Electronic Data Capture)- To contribute to developing effective systems and procedures for ensuring an efficient and reliable data management service in DNDi Data Centre

My main duty as a System and Data manager is to conduct needs assessment and work together with the ICT department to design and create new database for research and to deploy and manage systems used for research in the unit. Other responsibilities include: 1. Devise methods and procedures to best integrate the OpenClinica system with other systems in use across the Programme. 2. Manage systems and tools for collecting, entering, editing, cleaning, storing, archiving, retrieving, organizing, and transferring data. 3. Carry out data review, validation including discrepancy checking, and cleaning and report generation of records generated from the databases. 4. Generate reports including Verification error reports, Comments reports, Constraints

My main duty in Strathmore university was to maintain and extend new features in the University Academic Management System. Other responsibilities include:1. Performing System Analysis and programming tasks to maintain and develop new features in to the existing systems.2. Perform User Training and support with regards to computer systems software.3. Perform Computer Database Administration and Maintenance.4. Write instructions or manuals to guide end users.5. Generation of ad hoc reports from the database with regards to unique user specifications.

I was attached at the Software Development Unit for a period of three months during which I developed a Hospital Management System using Java with mysql back-end.
