Senior Inspector and Team Lead for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under the Office of Detention Oversight (ODO) where I independently and collectively with a team composed of ODO staff and Subject Matter Experts (SME) conduct on-site inspections, audits and reviews of ICE detention facilities housing detainees to ensure compliance with established ICE and DHS policies and procedures. Provide technical and expert advice in planning, organizing, conducting, and reporting of assigned on-site inspections, audits, or reviews. Experienced in preparing comprehensive reports of assigned on-site inspections, audits, or reviews that have national and/or international scope and impact. Vast experience in conducting interviews of staff and detainees at inspection sites and/or offices. Reviewing inspection findings for proper identification of deficiencies and the type of corrective action necessary to fix the problem. Prepares written inspection findings with team leads or supervisors and assists with conducting on-site inspections. Briefs the team lead during inspections on findings during daily inspections and discuss possible deficiencies and/or corrective action recommendations.

Conducts preliminary interviews to determine if the allegation constitutes an alleged violation or if it should be filed with another agency; Provides technical assistance and information to employers, employees, labor representatives, attorneys, and members of the general public regarding the Whistleblower statutes enforceable by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration; Makes determinations regarding merit cases and recommends, orally and in writing, appropriate case disposition to management; Assists the U.S.Department of Labor Office of the Solicitor in the preparation and development of Whistleblower cases for litigation; Testifies in the United States District Court as an official government witness and at administrative hearings conducted before U.S. Department of Labor Administrative Law Judges; Prepares written investigation reports.
