I have performed initial fire safety inspections on equipment, components, machinery, and buildings. When significant violations are found the inspection is turned over to higher authority for further investigation. I have assisted in the enforcement of all laws under the jurisdiction of the State Fire Marshal relating to the prevention of fires. I have assisted with investigations into the cause and circumstances of fires, and have reported violations of appropriate fire safety rules and regulations to a Fire Protection Specialist Supervisor. I have assisted in the inspection and the approval of new construction and renovations prior to occupancy. I have helped to verify that construction materials and methods meet safety performance standards, fire protection codes, and manufacturer's specifications. I have conducted and assisted in the investigations into the circumstances of fires, for the purpose of determining the adequacy of codes and fire safety standards, and the effect on compliance or non-compliance had on the fire. I have conducted research of code requirements and to help prepare written reports on fire safety inspections. I have researched, compiled, and analyzed data that has been collected and coordinated to prepare regional, monthly reports to be submitted to the Authority Having Jurisdiction each month. I have transcribed notes, and prepared letters, prioritizing incoming and outgoing office correspondence, memorandums and reports on technical subject matter. I have maintained liaison with key personnel who are involved with fire protection in order to keep informed of the latest concerns, techniques, and developments in the field of fire safety. Upon the receipt of a complaint to a fire safety code violation, with little to no supervision, I investigated the compliant, or I assisted in the interview process with a Fire Protection Specialist Supervisor.
