About Michael Parry
Continuous exposure to a high demanding workload through twenty-six years of service in the British Army has moulded me into a confident, reliable, highly motivated individual, earning the prestigious rank of Regimental Sergeant Major, requiring the complex daily management of the Battalion. My passion for the performance and reputation of the Battalion conducts continuous high standards. My high standards and attention to detail were imperative in my ability to provide the escort to the colour during the 2015 Trooping the Colour, which was highlighted by the media. I also went on to win the Pacesticking world championship (Sandhurst 2011). My exacting standards and leadership skills came to the fore whilst deployed in several countries, including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Iraq, America, Belize, Canada, Kenya, and Afghanistan, where I was awarded a Mention in Dispatches (MiD) for gallantry. My future career interests involve using my experience as welfare officer, to support and mentor veterans and their families.Hobbies – I am a keen runner, averaging 1000 miles a year. I have competed in several events ranging from 5k, 10K, Half Marathons, Marathons and Ultra events, all for charity.
