• As an assistant I worked physically with the camera, as an understudy to the photographer: becoming experienced using the camera and shoot equipment, learning how to create sets, creating advertising campaigns, and editing the video and stills photography (mainly on Final Cut Pro and Photoshop but experienced on all editing software). This experience with the camera now also enhanced by my Media Practise (Video and Stills Photography) module at University has given me the ability to hold my own Photo shoots, Nick Parsons sending me solely to do location shoots whilst he works in the studio, and vice versa.• Administratively within the business I had responsibilities: liaising and communicating with clients, organising and attending meetings, developing relationships, carrying out research, dealing with phone enquires and controlling accounting. These responsibilities provided me with experience in the general business workplace.

• Whilst at University I was made Team Leader for the new ‘Student Night’ and co-ordinated the event, where I worked closely with the manager organising the events of the night (booking the DJ/music act and/or special guests, organising the games/activities, creating the drinks promotions for the night), and then was also in charge of publicly advertising the night and physically doing door-to-door sales of the tickets to students.• My responsibilities included controlling the social media websites for the nightclub on Twitter and Facebook. Whilst also creating a new event on Facebook each week for the student night, which included a guest-list students could put themselves on which would give them discounted admission on the door if they had not already bought a guaranteed entrance ticket (so we could still predict the attendance for the night), and uploaded videos of the music acts previous performances to create a hype. Continuously sharing all this information across the social media platforms to get the night trending.• Creating weekly leaflets working around the events to maximise publicity. Advertising the nights drink offers, information on opening and closing times, information on entrance fee (ticket price, guest-list price and on-the-door price) with booking number and guestlist web address, advertisement of the special guests and/or Music Act/Dj and advertisement of the activities (e.g. a Bar crawl, ‘Take Me Out’ game, VIP with the special guests, etc).• Physically going out around the university campuses sticking up posters, handing out the leaflets, doing door-to-door sales of the tickets and handling calls for ticket bookings.• Once the student night had become successful and started to expand I then also headhunted “popular” students to become ticket sales assistants and got a team working on each campus, whilst I co-ordinated these selling teams and concentrated on advertising and organising the night.

• In this position I had duties including: Working on retail stands, ushering customers, cleaning and working in a team. This broad position enhanced my customer relation skills, retail experience, teamwork experience and leadership ability.

• I had to undergo a training course for 2 months to become skilled in this position. I am now a qualified waiter and this also helped me further my customer service. This also enhanced my time management and gave me experience working under-pressure as this was a very busy restaurant where we had to work quickly and efficiently whilst still keeping the customers happy.
