The CGIC disseminate and Investigate NIBIN leads developed by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Firearms Lab related to violent crime. The CGIC along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are tasked with proactive and reactive investigations related to NIBIN cases.Other duties include being a Task Force Officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Supervise and manage a team of Homicide Detectives who investigate murders, suicides, accidental and unnatural deaths. Manage crime scenes to ensure that evidence is being collected properly and monitor the team’s investigative efforts. Review all reports prepared by the detectives for accuracy, completeness and timeliness of submission. Investigate all cases to their logical conclusion which includes but is not limited to cases reaching the judicial system.

Responded to calls involving hostages, barricaded criminals and suicide threats. Worked to resolve the situation through communication with the individual in crisis. Spent the last 3 years on the team in a supervisory role as an Assistant Team Leader.

Supervised a squad of six detectives who investigated felony child abuse cases and the most violent domestic violence cases.

Supervised a squad of eight officers who respond to calls for emergency and non-emergency service; giving priority to emergency calls. The officers were responsible for the enforcement of traffic laws, state laws and municipal ordnances. Responsible for responding to major incidents and crime scenes which required supervision. Reviewed and approved reports written by the officers and addressed complaints by citizens involving officers under my command.

Investigated murders, suicides, undetermined and accidental deaths in a team environment.

Investigated sexual assaults committed against adults and juveniles.

Investigated burglaries to residences and businesses.

Responded to emergency and non-emergency calls for service. Enforced traffic laws and patrolled an assigned area of responsibility.
