Responsibilities: - Manage full suite of IT infrastructure across multiple offices / set locations (Network, servers, workstations, etc).- Manage petabytes of NAS storage from various software vendors (Qumulo, FreeNAS, SmallTree, Nexenta, Windows Server)- Manage full network infrastructure and related services (Firewall, Switches, VLANs, VPN, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Wifi, VOIP, etc) - Work with numerous departments / teams in house to meet a multitude of varied software / hardware needs including: VFX (Modelling, Animation, Lighting, Comp, etc), Post (Editorial and Online), Film Crews, Interactive / Game Dev, and traditional office (Accounting, Corporate, etc).- Troubleshoot many varied VFX / Film industry specialty client software packages and their plugins including: Maya, Nuke, ZBrush, Houdini, Adobe Premiere, Resolve, Pro Tools, Adobe Photoshop, etc.- Work directly with partner / owner to tackle projects and forecast departmental needs.Accomplishments:- Moved company to a new office space and worked with vendors to plan out power and network infrastructure as well as a complete server room rebuild.- Built and maintained multiple custom petabyte NAS servers using ZFS. Also retrofitted older NAS hardware / software to give servers a second life.- Rebuilt firewall / network from scratch and completed migration from a layer 2 network to a routed layer 3 VLAN network for the company.- Used VMWare ESXI to virtualize network services and reduce hardware over head, including transitioning ESXI and VMs to newer hardware.- Transitioned from a PBX phone system to a VOIP phone system.- Implemented remote imaging services to handle PXE booting / image deployment.- Implemented tape library, backup server, and software package for LTO archival systems.- Scripted install processes to automate software deployment including automating deadline services to bring user desktops into our render farm / compute pool during off hours.
