As Design Director, I was accountable for working with product development, sales, and manufacturing teams to design, conceptualize, materialize, detail, and develop a balanced collection of women’s athleisure lifestyle apparel with a focus on product relevance and commercial viability while effectively capturing the brand's essence.To carry out my mandate, I leveraged all available data points – including trends, competitive landscape, channel feedback, and customer insights – to identify new product and category opportunities to achieve long-term growth plans.I also guided new product development from briefs through the creative process by planning work flows, setting clear direction and priorities, and driving cooperation between design, development, and sourcing teams.Among my accomplishments, I have:➥ Routinely identified market trends and incorporated them seamlessly into the brand language/identity.➥ Consistently achieved target objectives for margin, costing menu, factory costs, and MSRP.➥ Steered the organization through a challenging pandemic business environment by identifying new target demographics and categories compatible with evolving consumer needs, driving YoY digital sales of 35% and total brand sales of 25% in FY 2020. ➥ Led a tactical pivot to slippers after identifying a need due to the sudden increase in work-from-home staff; working with sales, marketing, and analytics teams to deliver a focused product aligned with their needs.➥ Facilitated a period of rapid growth, going from 96th place to 66th place on the national brand ranking over 1 year.➥ Managed multiple design teams, developing a product and design roadmap to guide them.
