Working at Rio Tinto Hope Downs 1 joint venture site has provided a unique opportunity to discover the complexity of business partnerships. The following projects have been undertaken which ensure fast payback periods with minimal capital expenditure:- Increased Train Loadout railed tonnes through Wagon Weight Variance Reduction (as part of the successful 290 million tonnes per annum Pilbara expansion). - Upgrades to processing plant control logic to increase "smooth running" allowing for increased plant throughput without the need for mechanical upgrades.- Yard Stacker remote position finder functionality for SCADA.In addition to the above projects I have undertaken a number of roles outside the scope of my requirements:- Maintenance, Planning & Engineering site safety representative.- Site Production Systems Cyber Security representative.- Development and Ongoing testing of stockyard machine Anti-Collision System.

The job requires me to manage a state-wide IT infrastructure. This involves continuous business improvement through innovative IT solutions and commissioning. Since starting as IT manager I have successfully commissioned a new backup system, fully redundant virtual server environment including server cluster automatic fail-over, a state-wide fibre network with single-point-of-access firewalling, new data storage systems with associated secure terminal services for remote access and completed a company-wide migration to cloud technology.
