As the Chief Information Officer for the City of Aurora, appointed by Mayor Richard C. Irvin, I lead the IT Department and a comprehensive strategic plan for technology services that impact every department and resonate with a diverse constituency. In this role, I champion technological advancement, process, and service innovation to strengthen public administration, enhance cybersecurity, spur economic growth, nurture STEM education, and augment services for our residents, businesses, and visitors. I ensure that our technological endeavors are in harmony with the goals of the Mayor's Office and city leadership. Moreover, I oversee a technology budget of **$10 million** and guide a committed team of over **45 professionals** and managed service partners across divisions such as Cybersecurity & Technology Risk, Data & Analytics, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Project Management Office (PMO), Infrastructure & Operations, and the Service Desk. My responsibilities extend to the safeguarding of IT/OT security for Aurora's critical infrastructure, including our **160-mile fiber optic broadband network**, SCADA systems of our Water Treatment Plant, public safety dispatch, and telco network for first responders. It has been owned by PepsiCo since 2001.Provided day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Performed general maintenance tasks and resolved less complex problems immediately, while more complex issues were identified to a higher level of support. Installed, configured and troubleshooted desktop systems, workstations, servers and network.

Ameritech was acquired by SBC Communications in 1999 which subsequently acquired AT&T Corporationin 2006, becoming the present-day AT&T Inc.Programmed and managed custom voice response applications and systems, provided 24/7 access to voice response applications for data collection, consumer information, and awards programs.

Operated and monitored computer equipment including some end user support and records administration. Performed daily support activities in support of a DEC OpenVMS hosted on Alpha mid-range computers. Worked with internal staff and external customers to resolve issues and answer questions. Worked with others in MIS to aid in resolving issues, learning new processes (systems) and performing special requests. Learned new procedures as required.

Actively participated in Operation Provide Comfort were military operations initiated by the United States and other Coalition nations of the Gulf War, starting in April 1991, to defend Kurds fleeing their homes in northern Iraq in the aftermath of the Gulf War and deliver humanitarian aid to them. Then-Lt. Col. John Abizaid commanded the 3rd Battalion, 325th Airborne Regiment combat Team in Vicenza, Italy.
