My time as an R&D Engineer I was spent building upon my experience gained as an Associate Engineer while taking on further responsibilities as Project Manager.My essential job functions consisted but were not limited to the following:- Managed a cross-functional team and acted as the R&D support of a cross-functional team that worked together to design and develop a new product line of medical devices taken from the Concept Phase through Market Launch.- Was responsible for completing and managing all R&D project deliverables while also reviewing and ensuring that all other cross-functional team deliverables were completed as needed and on time.- Prepared and conduct design reviews for under-development projects to ensure that all applicable design controls and engineering best practices were being met.- Acted as direct manager to an intern ensuring that the intern learned internal company procedures and was able to contribute to projects as needed- Managed project timelines and deliverables to ensure that key company driver goals were met as needed.

My time as an Associate R&D Engineer was spent gaining experience as a Project Manager while also spending the majority of my time performing R&D testing and data reduction. I created and managed project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking for multiple projects at one time. I did so through working with internal manufacturing facilities as well as with multiple third part vendors.My essential job functions consisted but were not limited to the following:- Applied relevant engineering principles throughout the entirety of a project while initiating new or revised design control documentation.- Represented the R&D portion of cross-functional teams and worked on cross-functional teams throughout the design and development of new products.- Assisted in developing physical and functional test requirements to assure that material and product specifications and regulations were met- Consistently analyzed test data and compared gathered data against predetermined acceptance criterias

At this job I have worked extensively in the Research and Development area of the Medical Device field working primarily on medical PICCs. I have gained experience in test method creation as well as performing Gage R&Rs to validate and verify test methods. Through the use of Minitab and Microsoft Excel, I've learned about statistical data analysis and manipulation and how to prepare data for qualification reports to be submitted to the FDA. I've also learned about project management and how to effectively manage multiple projects at once.

At this job I worked on a team of engineering students and went around to different high schools promoting engineering and more specifically Mechanical Engineering as a possible career path for future college students. I gained knowledge and experience in giving presentations, building interactive demos, and working on a team.
