I was re-appointed to the panel of Legal Aid Independent Funding Adjudicators dealing with appeals against refusals to grant funding or extensions to funding. This role was due to conclude in June 2019 but was extended following ministerial agreement to 31 December 2020.

I was appointed to be an Independent Funding Adjudicator for the new Legal Aid Agency from 1 April 2013 continuing the role I previously held with the LSC. I served a term of three years and was subsequently reappointed.

I acted as an Independent Adjudicator for the LSC and dealt with Public Funding appeals on cases referred to me; providing objective reasoned decisions on whether funding should be granted. My appointment ended on 31 March 2013 when the LSC became the Legal Aid Agency.

I was a founding member of the APL and sat on the steering committee before being elected to the Executive Committee 2008 - 2011. I was involved in discussions and consultations with other CJS providers and assisted in providing training to members. I did not stand for re-election in 2011 following my elevation to Partnership at Stephensons and assuming responsibilities for other projects including the Civil Liberties Unit.
