• Designed an EMR agnostic OCR plugin to detect certain elements within the EMR software. This implementation leveraged Google’s open-source Tesseract engine to detect text from images.• Developed a pseudo single sign on module that integrated with third party web sites that were being embedded within the application. This improved the user experience for our customers greatly because they didn’t have to load multiple applications at once nor have to log into multiple sites at the same time.• Used WIX to enhance the installation process. Installation went from being non-GUI to being a fully interactive wizard that featured product activation, customizable settings for the install, as well as coming with an unattended install mode for mass rollouts in an enterprise setting. This smoothed over a lot of pain points the company had as it pertained to the setup and configuration of the client application.• Architected an automatic update policy for the application that was fully automated within our code pipelines. This required changes in both software and people processes. This enabled the application to be updated via an api instead of manually shipping out new setup files to each client.

• Played a key role in the transition of their premiere web forms app over to an Angular SPA with .NET Api web services back end. • Created a message queue based microservices app that performs a fuzzy matching algorithm to match patient demographics from BD's data lake to a prominent 3rd party insurance provider's customer data. This application provided the client with a much more current picture of how their customers were being serviced in the hospital.• Developed a lightweight business rules api to apply NHSN rulesets to BD's data. The api had to support cross-cutting concerns such as versioning, ease of maintenance and performance. I also wrote automated unit tests that cover nearly 100% of the api’s functionality.• Maintained and developed new features for their adverse drug reaction web application and accompanying windows service. The web forms project was a (pseudo) single page app that was developed before the advent of single page application frameworks. It was notorious for being difficult to maintain and understand because of the pervasive amount of LINQ used within it. I was one of a very small list of devs who had even touched the code since the original developer created it.• I utilized my role of Principal Software Engineer to help instill a culture of wanting to develop great software to other members of my team. As a senior development member of my team I helped mentor junior developers via pair programming sessions, code reviews, and training. I was also a key member of the committee responsible for creating the coding standards that all developers were to adhere to.
