Overview of Role•To contribute to the successful design, development and commercialisation of the company’s Chilling and Freezing products.•Take design lead on specific projects as identified by the Engineering manager and ensure design is undertaken within project budgets whilst progressively developing and implementing improved systems and processes in line with the Engineering team.•Assist the Engineering Manager / Engineering Team in coaching other Mechanical Designers to develop design skills and work to departmental processes.•Play a key role in the development and continuous improvement of design standards and processes and contribute to the future innovation of MHM’s product range.•Conduct design reviews on assigned projects in design phase to monitor design progress against identified KPI's and report outcome and initiate mitigative actions. Key Responsibilities •Take the lead role in managing the design output of the team for assigned projects – this includes coordinating the assembly of overall project design model to the required specification for project related design reviews•Develop overall concept designs for assigned projects taking into consideration the various stakeholder needs including those of the client, project engineering and manufacturing•Mentor and train junior designers in CAD design requirements, 3D modelling skills/software and preferred practices•Write guide documents for training purposes•Lead and contribute to the implementation of improvements to the mechanical design and engineering process aligned with the project team •Review and check drawings before issuing for manufacture•Contribute to the design process (Brainstorming, researching idea/s, establish design criteria, consider alternative solutions, develop design proposal and prototype, refine design)Achievements•Programming of over 150 different iLogic programs. Some of those are used to migrate a drawing from an old drawing template to a new drawing template.

Overview of Role •Prepare drawings to facilitate the manufacture of aluminium tipper bodies for fitment to tipper trailer chassis’ and rigid trucks, using established engineering principles and standards.•Produce sales drawings for the sales team•Update current trailer designs and drawing register•Update drawings to standardise details•Co-ordinate and interact with the production staff during the trailer building process•Guide customers through the PBS process by liaising between PBS assessors, NHVR and the customer.•Customer liaison to develop new business partnerships, using targeted product & technical knowledge to increase sales reach in new markets.•Report and interact directly to the CEO and COO. Key Responsibilities •Receive concise specifications from the sales team•Produce and issue workshop drawings, as well as prepare concept, general arrangement and detail drawings from specifications supplied by sales team for customer approval and workshop fabrication.•Liaison with workshop during fabrication to ensure products meet drawing quality and specificationsAchievements •Preliminary phase of contact, interaction and discussion of technical knowledge for the Aspire Mining proposed business venture.•Prepare and co-ordinate the successful migration of Vault 2019 Workgroup to Vault 2021 Professional with the help of the I.T./network contractor. Also involved management of Inventor/Vault licenses with service provider.•Successfully request to upgrade to new CAD workstations to improve productivity, reliability and efficiency.

Inspection and quality assurance of finished product.Arrange parts order requisitions for processing via the purchasing officer.All facets of 2D Drafting using AutoCAD.All facets of 3D modelling, from creation of models to detail drawings using Autodesk Inventor.Analytical and problem solving skills to complete jobs on time and to specification.
