General Labourer
My role consisted of a wide range of tasks and responsibilities, from the bottom-end of site housekeeping and trash removal early on - and later, as needed - but becoming more skilled and with more responsibility as time went on - including careful demolition for removal and reinstallation, installing backing, floor patching, and installing drain bodies, as well as working closely with company carpenters for all work from rough-in through finishing tasks.Duties included: site housekeeping - sweeping, garbage removal, restringing lights, cleaning up extension cords, managing negative air machines and installing safety measures: guardrails, caution tape, covering and marking holes etc.; actual construction and demolition duties - mixing and applying self-levelling concrete, cleanly removing drywall to give trades access to wall cavities, hanging backing for fixtures, demolition of reinforced concrete with various jackhammers, assisting carpenters hanging doors and installing windows and assisting with concrete pours and concrete finishing.
