The Senior Geospatial Analyst – Research, coordinates and undertakes RS and other geospatial science research for social economic development. He/ She also facilitates the flow of technological transfer, training, information system requirements, data management, publicawareness and marketing of the Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology.

My duties as a Technical Expert - Technology transfer and training included:1. Development and implementation of short-term Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing training programmes;2. National training needs assessments;3. Packaging and distribution of geographic data;4. Undertakook linkages with educational institutions including participating in remote sensing and GIS curriculum development;5. Set monthly targets; and6. Participated in the preparation of annual and other related reports.

This role involved Geographic Information Systems (GIS), image processing and analysis, geodatabase management and field surveys.I defined user information and analysed and managed geographic data to meet user needs> I processed, archived and disseminated remote sensing and other spatial data. I assisted in the acquisition of geographic data and procurement of data collection equipment and tools. I provided GIS services to address scientific, natural resource management, and environmental concerns in Zambia and the sub-region. I also conducted field work for data collection. Lastly, I compiled Land Cover Maps and reports for the Commissioner of Lands at the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
