I recently retired from the Carmel Police Department. I spent 20 years with the finest agency and officers I have ever been around. I spent 10 years in the Operations Division as a road officer. I worked 5 years in the Criminal Investigations as a Detective. While in Investigations I worked sex crimes cases for 3 1/2 years and general investigations for 1 1/2 years. I held many positions within the department in my 20 years. I also was a D.A.R.E. Instructor, Public Information Officer and a School Resource Officer. I was also a 10 year SWAT team member ending my time there as the Sniper Team leader. I was an Indiana State certified Instructor and did complete training for new officers with crime scene report writing. I did hold a certification through the International Police Mountain Bike Association for 11 years. I completed over 4,000 hours of instruction to officers in Police cycling and EMS cycling. I was honored to be 1 of only 16 Instructor- Trainers through IPMBA. I completed this very rewarding experience after 11 years of service.

This was my first real job once I graduated High School. I started working in the maintenance area as a laborer. During the first week I was promoted to the Maintenance Supervisor. The following year I was promoted to Operations Manager and in charge of 15-30 workers and all two hundred acres of the facility. My main responsibility was making sure the facility was ready for the next event. In 1993 I started working the winters at Market Square Arena and then back to Deer Creek in the Spring.
