Thank you for choosing to read my profile. I am Michael Pomeroy, a devoted family man from Williamsburg, Virginia. I’m blessed to have a loving wife, and two incredible children, one of whom is a career firefighter in South Carolina.Professionally, I am a versatile web developer with a strong skill set. I am currently the lead PHP/Laravel developer for Masonite with additional proficiencies in WordPress, MySQL, and am currently expanding my skills in Java and Kotlin. My experience includes LAMP stack, PHP, MySQL, NoSQL, Postgres, Java, JavaScript, Git, Vue, Angular, Node, REST, code review, and CI/CD, to name a few with a focus on problem solving and crafting efficient RESTful APIs.Apart from my career, I'm proud of my achievements and involvement in different areas. In Karate, I am a five time All-American with nearly two dozen national championships under my belt in addition to nearly a dozen international world titles. In 2022 I was honored to have been inducted into the USA Karate Hall of Fame. I'm also passionate about volunteering and giving back to the community. As an award-winning firefighter, I have been happy to serve multiple communities throughout my volunteer career and look forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. Family, work, and community service are the cornerstones of my life, and I thrive balancing them all.
