I Left School with little idea of what to do. Working for Greenham(now Bunzl )followed by Great Ormond Street Hospital ,The Post Office and British Airtours (B.A) . I finally settlied at Duty Free gift Supplier Clifford International Ltd at Gatwick where I progressed from Van Driver to Stock Control and then the management team.I Worked hard and benefited from my efforts learning loads and with a detemination to improve what was a poor albeit diversified CV. The Company grew to a 14 million Turnover with 20 or so staff in under 8 years Before being sold to Ronson. I became Operations Manager at Gatwick,but it never quite felt the same company.Realising that I wanted yet more of a challenge and the small matter of Redundancy a few years later. I decided to go alone and formed a direct selling business of Luxury gifts before being asked to join a Warehouse and Logistics Partnership as Co-Owner. I then started providing Transport, Warehousing and Distribution, Bonded services in the Gatwick Area and South East region.Our clients included Coca-Cola uk,Gatwick Airport,Baker Tilley,Bombardier,Nestle,Winterthur,as well as many many more.Ten Years on S4b was born ,With the aim to offer document storage,Secure Shredding Service and recycling ,at the right price and with a strong Service ethic ,yet importantly with a modern approach to Sustainability Excellence and Compliance .We are Friendly and Professional. ISO Accredited and provide "best Practice" My view is It's all about Loyalty, Commitment and aforementioned Excellent Service .People matter to me.Employees matter they make the Ideas and our business work. I am a member of the chartered institute of Logistics andIn 2016 I became a Freeman of the City of London and proud Carmen. In business and life I am driven by turning a "No" into a "Yes" .A "can't do into a "Can do"to achieve a target. s4b is growing into a group with recycling services aligned to our client base and their needs,alongside other new challenges but The Objectives are simple, build a reliable Attractive,Effective service, our customers never want to leave.

Regional ChairmanUnited Kingdom Warehousing Association Oct 2011 - Oct 2014London, United KingdomMy role involves representing the best interests of UKWA members in the region.I carry out inspections for potential new members and promote best practice .Established in 1944, when the Government of the day asked for representatives from warehousing companies to form a Committee to discuss the storage and distribution of food and materials in wartime Britain, the Association was originally known as the National Association of Inland Warehouse Keepers - a body formed to protect and further the interests of public warehouse keepers conducting businesses outside the major ports.After the war, the name was changed in 1952 with the omission of the word "Inland" as many members by then were also operating facilities within the ports. In 1982, the British Public Warehouse Keepers Committee merged with the National Association of Warehouse Keepers, further strengthening the Association's representational base.The Association celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 1994 and changed its name from the National Association of Warehouse Keepers to the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA).Today UKWA is a well-respected Association which represents over 600 member companies who, between them, operate around 100 million sq ft of warehouse and distribution centre space from some 2000 locations across the UK.The Association now embraces all companies that provide warehousing or other logistics support services in the supply chain. In other words, companies that undertake warehousing and logistics tasks but for whom such operations do not represent their core business can now apply for membership of UKWA.Of course, the overwhelming majority of UKWA's members remain third party warehousing and logistics services companies, or 3PLs as they are perhaps better known, but the move to widen the Association's membership eligibility means that UKWA is now truly representative of the wider supply chain community. -
